Named after the architect Cecil Eldridge Bryan who partnered with the Brown family to transform the Central School into a lovely home, this large 11 x 22 guestroom has a queen bed, luxurious queen sleeper sofa and a private attached bathroom. (Breakfast for 2 is included; any additional guests are $20.00 each) Son of a home/railroad station builder and husband to the daughter of Geneseo Mayor Goembel, Cecil honed his skills working for Frank Lloyd Wright and Ralph Modjeski, a pioneer in the use of reinforced concrete and the builder of the Bay Bridge linking San Francisco and Oakland. Mr. Bryan is accredited with building over 80 mausoleums across the country, many of which are located in Illinois. If you take a glance at the reinforced concrete foundation of our building, you will quickly appreciate the unique skillset required to allow this historic landmark to withstand the test of time.
